Got a call this morning from the guy who bought my Z and told me he was having a bit of trouble with the Z. The alternator seems to have gone. He asked if I could do the service on the car, as he didn't trust Nissan to do it. I told him sure, no problem. He'll pay me for the work and the alternator, and I get to see my baby again. She showed up on a flatbed, looking OK. Lots of bird shit, a bit dirty, but no bruises or scrapes. The interior still looks good. Anyway, I was just thinking about it this morning, and sure enough, she shows up this afternoon. All least I get a couple days of tinkering alone with her :) No lights in the interior, nothing at all actually. The battery appears to be pooched, probably do to a bad alternator. The CAA guy said it starts right up when boosted, but it only charges around 9 volts. The guy who bought the car is really nice, even let me drive his 5 series for a day while I got it detailed. Maybe he might even let me have the Z for a day or two :)
